“I created this blog with one mission in mind: to help female solo travelers explore Hong Kong safely, confidently, and adventurously. ✈👩❤Here, you’ll find high-quality information, essential planning advice, and a treasure trove of insights on all the wonderful experiences Hong Kong has to offer.
Why Trust Me?
I’ve been coming to Hong Kong for over 45 years. My family moved here in the 1970s when I was little, and I grew up as an expat, attending school and high school in this vibrant city.
Although New Zealand is my home base now, Hong Kong remains my second home, and I visit frequently. I know all the best spots, understand the culture, and, above all, you can trust my insights and recommendations.
Hong Kong is an exceptional destination for female solo travelers. Nowhere else in the world do I feel safer walking around at night or less self-conscious. The language barrier is minimal as many locals speak some English, and the local culture is wonderfully warm and welcoming.”
Every now and then I come across a great Hong Kong website and go “wow!” I came across Deborah’s website a week ago and it is pretty new and I was amazed at all the information available, it is extensively researched and gosh it will be so helpful to a lot of people, particularly the target audience of sole female travellers.
The text above is from the site.
I have been in touch with Deborah and it turns out we went to the same school in Hong Kong at different times and it is quite possible our paths crossed in the 1970’s!
I am going through Deborah’s site post by post (it is quite fascinating) and you can tell it is written by someone who knows Hong Kong and it is well worth a visit.
I also mentioned to Deborah that I have done over 300 private tours with single female solo travellers so I am familiar with her target audience! but for those that do not want to book a tour, the advice is invaluable.
My insider tip
Please note that in general if you book a tour on Viator or Tripadvisor you generally have NO control over what guide will lead your Private Tour of Hong Kong and this is the most important component of the tour. I urge you to check the actual company website and book via their website and do not forget to read Tripadvisor reviews as well.
