Private Tours for Senior Travellers coming to Hong Kong | Made for People Like Us
I’m Jamie, 65 years old, and I’ve lived in Hong Kong for 54 of those years. That’s more than half a century of calling this place home.
Since 2010 I’ve run my own companies - J3 Consultants Hong Kong and J3 Private Tours Hong Kong - and I’ve now completed well over 2,360 private tours. More than half of them have been with guests aged 65 and over - and most of those are couples or two couples travelling together, so nice small groups of just 2 to 4 people but naturally I am able to do any number between 1 person to 6 people.
Here’s the thing: I actually understand what senior travellers want because I’m one of you. I know what it feels like at our age – the knees aren’t what they used to be, you don’t want to be rushed from pillar to post, and you appreciate proper time to sit, look, chat and enjoy a cup of tea when you need it. A lot of young guides in their 20s or 30s are full of energy and know all the facts, but they simply don’t “get it” (we have 3 adult sons so I am familiar with the young mindset) the way someone who’s lived the same chapter of life does, I am pretty good at conversation!
That’s why so many seniors choose me. My tours are fully private, limited to small groups - especially couples or two couples (1 - 6 people) - and completely flexible. You can give me a simple wish list of things you’d like to see or do, and I’ll build the day around it if it’s feasible. Most clients though prefer to leave the itinerary entirely up to me. (I clearly explain on my FAQ page that I don’t prepare fixed itineraries in advance.) This keeps everything relaxed and adaptable to how you’re feeling on the day.
We go at your pace, not mine. We mix the classic sights - beautiful viewpoints, bustling markets, buildings of interest, peaceful temples and real local life - with plenty of breathing space. I use Hong Kong’s brilliant public transport (Star Ferry, trams and MTR which is our world class subway system) because it’s comfortable, interesting and far more relaxing than sitting in traffic. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are included so everything stays easy, in addition for those coming off cruises I do pick up and drop off at the Cruise Ship Terminal and Airport pick up and drop off at Hong Kong International Airport for those in Hong Kong for a layover tour.
You’ll get proper insider stories from someone who has watched this city change over more than five decades - from the old British days right through to the Hong Kong of today. No script, just honest conversation between adults who’ve actually lived a bit.
Safety and comfort always come first. No crowds, no rushing, just a relaxed day that leaves you with good memories instead of sore feet and exhaustion. Perfect for couples who want quality time together or two couples who enjoy travelling as a small, friendly group.
If you’re a senior couple (or two couples) looking for a thoughtful, enriching Hong Kong experience without the worries, I’d be very happy to look after you.
Let’s take it nice and easy and make your time here something special.

The Lugard Road Lookout | Victoria Peak | Hong Kong
One of my favourite images that I have taken, the greatest panoramic city view in the world from the Lugard Road Lookout (or Jamie’s spot as I have been there 6,000+ times) at Victoria Peak in Hong Kong
How can you NOT come to Hong Kong and miss out on the best panoramic city view in the world, this one spot makes it all worthwhile! Please note that a lot of tour companies in Hong Kong will NOT take you to this place which is called the Lugard Road Lookout, they will take you to the Peak Tower Sky Terrace 428 Viewing Platform, The Peak Galleria Roof or the Lions Pavilion Lookout which do NOT have a 180 degree panoramic city view and in fact only show about half the view.

My insider tip 1
Please note that in general if you book a tour on Viator or Tripadvisor you generally have NO control over what guide will lead your Private Tour of Hong Kong and this is the most important component of the tour. I urge you to check the actual company website and book via their website and do not forget to read Tripadvisor reviews as well.
My insider tip 2
My Private Tours are a combination of walking and using public transport and we go at a pace that suits you, I have never owned or driven a car in Hong Kong and I am somewhat of an expert on public transport, you want to know what makes Hong Kong tick well, travelling on the subway, buses, ferries, trams etc gives you that insight an insight you will not get sat in the back of a car and it enables us to cover a lot more ground on our tour.
Just a small sampling of the thousands of seniors that I have taken on a Private Tour of Hong Kong, let me, Jamie give you some fabulous memories to take home with you.
