I do NOT do large group tours in Hong Kong ( typically walking tours and coach tours ) - but I do know people that do!
Why I Specialize in Private Tours - And How I Can Still Help Your Group Enjoy Hong Kong
HR managers, office managers and event planners are just some who maybe interested in an awesome Hong Kong Experience
Back in 2010, after careful research and a few eye-opening coach tours (with an itinerary that had not changed for 50 years!, I made a deliberate decision: I would focus exclusively on private tours of Hong Kong with a 6 people maximum cap. My passion has always been creating personalized, intimate experiences where I can connect one-on-one with guests, share insider stories, adapt the pace to their interests, and ensure every moment feels special.
I capped my tours at a comfortable maximum of 6 people (perfect for families or close groups of friends) because I quickly realized that larger groups come with very different dynamics. Early on, a handful of well-paying corporate bookings pushed me into handling 15 - 25 participants. The money was great and the feedback was positive, but the reality was sobering for me.
Logistics became a constant challenge: counting heads to make sure no one wandered off, struggling to be heard without a microphone (which I refused to use), limited meaningful conversations, and the stress of navigating Hong Kong’s bustling streets and public transport with so many people. One-on-one interactions - the heart of what makes my tours memorable—simply weren’t possible. I knew then that large-group guiding wasn’t for me, and I’ve pretty much stuck to my 1 - 6 guest limit ever since.
Group tours, corporate tours and study tours are a completely different skill set.
They require dedicated teams, robust logistics, coaches or private transport arrangements, microphones, backup guides, and the ability to manage everything from timing and crowd flow to special requests for 7, 10, 20, or even 30+ people. Many of my friends and long-time colleagues in the industry have mastered exactly this side of the business. They run seamless group experiences, study tours, and high-quality corporate events with the infrastructure and support systems I deliberately chose not to build.
After 16 years as a full-time private tour guide in Hong Kong (with J3 Consultants Hong Kong and J3 Private Tours Hong Kong), and more than 2,360 tours completed, I’ve built strong, trusting relationships with the very best specialists in the larger-group segment. I’ve known many of these operators and their teams for 14+ years - we communicate on a daily basis, and I’ve seen firsthand the outstanding work they do.

So, if you’re planning to bring a larger group to Hong Kong, here’s how I can help:
Group tours for 7–25 people or more
Corporate tours & incentive programs for 10–30 people or more
Study tours & educational groups for 10–30 people or more
Simply send me the details - group size, dates, interests, budget considerations, or any special requirements (team-building, cultural immersion, industry-specific visits, etc.) - and I will personally connect you with the owners of the most suitable, reliable, and highly regarded tour companies in Hong Kong for your needs.
These are professionals I trust completely. They handle the full logistics smoothly so your group can relax, enjoy Hong Kong’s unique blend of cultures, cuisine, and energy, and create shared memories without the headaches.
Whether you ultimately book a private tour with me (ideal for smaller groups who want that personal touch) or a larger group experience through one of my recommended partners, my goal is the same: to make sure you and your guests have an authentic, stress-free, and unforgettable time in Hong Kong.
Feel free to contact me anytime. I’m here to help match you with the right fit.

I do not do food tours in Hong Kong but I know people that do!
I do not do food tours as mentioned above, I have very specific reasons and part of it is that I do not speak Cantonese or write Chinese, I am from Yorkshire in England and I lack the language gene and it is not through lack of trying and yes a lot of restaurants do not have English menu’s or staff who speak conversational English.
.. and yet I have eaten at close to 1,400 restaurants in Hong Kong since January 2nd 1972, my wife was born in Hong Kong and we have been together over 40 years and her first language is Cantonese and a lot of her family are Chinese or half Chinese so I have never had much of an issue!
This does not translate to doing food tours though, yes, I could do them, no problem there but they would never ever be as good as the food tours done by my friends (see the 3 links above) most of their awesome guides are locally born Hong Kong Chinese and obviously food culture is part of their DNA, it is impossible for me to compete with that!
So please feel free to contact them for food tours
